The Doctor, played by Jon Pertwee, is trying to keep an eye on a group of scientists are dabbling in elements that always lead to some kind of disaster. Yes, they are trying to penetrate the Earth’s crust.
In a secluded location the Government is carrying out secretly drilling operations to tap an ancient power source know as ‘Stahlman’s Gas’. This has been around since the dawn of the universe. At the same time the Doctor is trying to ‘kick start’ his Tardis with the power from the onsite power station.
All is not well, a humble engineer gets exposed to a mysteries green liquid and is transformed into a feral primordial man, that is so hot that everything, bar his clothing seems to be burned.
During one of his experiments with the Tardis he is transport to a parallel earth that is ruled by a powerful dictatorship. In this we see a one eyed Brigadier who is anything but nice and Liz Shaw as authoritarian Section Leader Shaw.
This Earth is suffering the same problems as The Doctor’s Earth in our dimension but they are advanced.
The Doctor struggles to try to save the parallel Earth, but it is too late but not for our Earth.
The Doctor returns to his own dimension and uses the lessons he has learned to save the day.
This episode has the full array of the Jon Pertwee era, Liz Shaw as his assistant, the Brigadier, Sergeant Benton and of course random shooting at creatures and The Doctor!
A brilliant story line that will make old and new fans smile!

Silence in the Library, another episode that is written by Steven Moffet, this means the best of the best! From the outset it feels like a great episode. Whether it is the set that actually looks like futuristic library would do or the plot twist of the little girl who is a security camera? Confused? you will be!
The library is empty and all Donna and The Doctor have to go on is a message warning them to count the shadows. But what is stranger than a deserted library plant, yes I said planet, than someone from the Doctor future appearing.. Yes, a women who is rather familiar to him is leading an expedition to the Library knows him, she knows all about him.
Donna, who has stated that she does not ‘fancy’ The Doctor appears to be upset, disturbed. Possibly even threatened as she is just getting to know The Doctor.
Oh, the villain of the piece is .. darkness. I am not going to say to much on this as it is brilliant. Although, this episode is the first of a two part story line which leaves The Doctor facing certain death - nothing unusual there then!
A brilliant episode!

As many of you will know that many of the brilliant episodes of the current Doctor Who series have been written by Steven Moffett. It has now been revealed in Wired that Neil Gaiman, Author of Neverwhere, has been asked to write for the series. What joy that would bring, it is brilliant to see a series that has been so well written inviting yet another true artist to the fold! Please Neil, say yes!
(I have forwarded on this Blogs link to Neil Gaiman’s website so that he can see the support that the fan base has for this.)

To date, in the Doctor Who with David Tennant, we have had a whole array of Doctor who ‘classic’ badies. The Daleks, gradually appearing until they reached an invasion force. The Cybermen started as ghosts and ended up as a force to be reckoned with.
In the rest of season 4 we are to see further Daleks, at as the rummer mills suggest - Davros, the creator of the Daleks.
But, one major enemy I think we should see again is, the Black Guadian. The Black Guadian was the evil power behind the story arch, The Key to Time with Tom Baker. He was the opposite to the White Guardian, the keeper of balance in the universe.
I would love to see a large sorry arch based around him. I think, that Robert Linsey, from BBC ‘My Family’ would be a good as the Black Guardian as for the modern doctor who, an energy will be needed otherwise he will feel stuffy and outdated.
So, who would you choose to play the Black Guardian?

It is a trailer you ask, how on Skaro can you write a review on a trailer. Well, easily when the trailer gives you so many clues to what is to come.
There is the obvious, the return of Rose, the further inclusion of Martha Jones and of course the return of the bady sofas where made for, the Daleks.
But, what I am interested in is, the half obscured Dalek in the darkness. Yes… edge of seat time, equal to the Master, yes, the creator of the Daleks. Davros!!
Davros returning would be amazing - this is only a theory that is spreading like wild fire but what a wild fair he would be. Pure evil, the purity of the Dalek race.
My only fear, well apart from the Dalek’s themselves is Davros being out of character, I want a truly cruel Davros, sacrifice anyone, thing for the perfecting of the Dalek race!
The trailor is here (UK only)

As many of you will know the latest instalment of David Tennant’s Doctor Who has been postponed until next weekend, for the abomination know as ‘Eurovision’. So in it’s place I am going to start a side line of recommendations to ‘classic’ Doctor Who, to begin with I am going to give you a run down of the brillant story, ‘The Time Warrior.
The Time Warrior stars Jon Pertwee as the Doctor, dressed in a Green velvet jacket and a fetching bow tie. This story line sees the first encounter with the race know as the Sontaran (Recently portrayed in the David Tennant two parter - The Sontaran Stratagem ) where by a fleet commander called ‘Linx’ has crashed in middle Ages England and is attempting to rebuilt his spaceship with the aid of a corrupt lord who is tempted by ‘advanced’ weaponry. In order to rebuilt his craft he is steeling equipment and people from a Unit base. The Doctor is sent to resent to investigate and he follows Linx back to the Norman castle where he is treated as a Wizard.
Other features of this episode are the introduction of a new assistant, Sarah Jane Smith, and some exciting sword play by John Pertwee. The special effects may appear dated but the story, dialogue and action makes this a classic.

After a fine run of quality episodes the, complete nemesis of quality television has cause the postponement of the next exciting instalment. Yes Euro vision is back! For those of you lucky enough to not know what this, well it is a contest that pits a musical bands against each other representing different European nations. Dull.. well except the hilarious commentary from Terry Wogan!
So to fill the said void of Doctor Who this week, what are you going to do, watch Eurovision. I think I may pop to the pub for a few.. to drown my sorrows..
In fact that reminds me; there is a pub in Central London that shows Doctor who on a wide large screen every Saturday!!!

I was wondering just now, as my own Microsoft Vista Ultimate edition grinded to a halt whether Doctor Who’s Tardis is running a Tardis version of Microsoft Vista?
I have noticed that the Tardis’s operating system is very comparable to Microsoft’s Vista.
We often see the Doctor having to do some serious tinkering to get the Tardis working. There is the, now famous, hammer!
On the plus side, Microsoft Vista is meant to handle a variety of languages and the Tardis has allowed the Doctor and his assistants to speak and hear other languages?
But does the Tardis bring up its own Blue screen of Death, and freeze. Well, it has crashes, and one quiet literal, into the space fairing version of the Titanic last Christmas! Does that count?
Let’s hope it is a lot more stable version than the one installed on my humble PC or this Doctor Who season could be rather uninteresting, as the Tardis is sent back to Tardis’ r’ us for repair for 4 weeks!
Let’s hope it is running Linux or it is an ‘iTardis’!

Imagine for one moment, you arrive at a car rental establishment and next to the usual array of cars, is Doctor Who’s Tardis! There with the key in the door… And a note addressed to you giving you the go-ahead to borrow it for 10 minutes (mighty as well be infinity as it is a time machine.) to go anywhere, anytime you wanted!
Well, what would you do? Where would you go?
Would I want to witness the assassination of Julius Caesar, see Brutus make the striking blow to save the Republic.
What about the Moon on 20 July 1969 to see that ‘one small step’.
Or far off into the future and see man’s first contact with an alien race?
Or maybe just to this morning to see where you left your keys?
